Joey Hui is the Managing Director and Founder of Empowerment Consulting. She has more than 8 years of experience in executive search with the exposure of handling regional and niche searches in highly critical level in many organizations. Her recent years in the search industry with international search firms have seen her in strategic roles, where she was responsible for spearheading executive searches in industries including manufacturing, semiconductors, chemical, supply chain and technology. Her experience in search work covers the region, having successfully done senior executive placements with MNC’s and corporations in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, China, Ghana, India, Philippine etc.

Joey was the Consulting Director for Bridges who has successfully conceptual and build the structure / business model for the brand. Her work includes brand development, drive business growth in the region (Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand), developed brand strategy and customer network.

Prior to this she was attached with an US based Fortune 500 Executive Search Firm as Senior Consulting Manager who manages the portfolio of Industrial Sector. Joey had successfully spearheaded her team with many awards winning milestones such as awarded as the best team twice a year, more than 2 of her team members awarded as best performer for the quarter and herself has been awarded as the best performer of the year.

Joey started off her executive search experience with a Singaporean Regional Search Firm with her last position held as a Principal Consultant. She has successfully managed and completed numerous executive recruitment projects in many senior management roles such as Group Legal GM, AGM – Marketing, Finance Director, Executive Director, Group CFO, IT Director, Product Director, CFO, CEO, Plant Manager, Brand Creative Director – APAC, Greater China Chief Sales Officer, Country Director and Regional Head of Patent Design.

Prior to Executive Search, Joey possess more than 8 years of experience in hospitality industry, including well known 5-star hotel (ShangriLa Group) and world top airlines (Singapore Airlines). In addition, 2 years of exposure in event merchandising specialized in marketing, business development and project management had given Joey opportunities to handle both back end project management and front line customer service role.

She is a enthusiast, with a zest for life who enjoys outdoor sports like diving, trekking & backpacking. Joey graduated from Curtin University with a Degree in Commerce. Other than the tertiary education, Joey is also certified as first aider, sea rescuer, natural cliff abseil mountaineer, Les Mills Body Combat instructor and TDI / SDI diving instructor. She is also a trained Neuro Lingustic Program (NLP) practitioner.
